The Everett School Board Failed Us
Vote for Change This November
Our Emails Reaching Out To The School Board
Your tax dollars are funding a robotics team at Jackson High where the coaches—not students—build the robot. I know because I was on the team for two years.
Imagine a high school football coach pretending to be 15 and tackling kids half his age. It’s creepy and wrong.
We repeatedly tried to report this to Everett School Board members Jen Hirman, Roman Rewolinski, and Anna Marie Laurence, but they care so little that they couldn’t be bothered to meet with us.
I was kicked off the team by the coach for speaking out and my social network was taken away overnight. I became depressed and planned to hang myself, but thankfully my parents found out and stopped me.
I should never have been put in that position. There shouldn’t be high school teams that require students to keep secrets and students shouldn’t be forced to lie about who really builds the robot. Taxpayers shouldn’t be paying for adults to build robots. This is common sense.
The current school board members are supposed to be our keepers and the finders of lost children, but instead our shepherds entrusted our care to wolves.
I’ll be voting in November. I hope you’ll join me in voting for new School Board members.

-Robin Lee, Jackson High School Class of 2025

“When students don’t build their robot, they don’t learn. Last year their robot was doing really well but it broke down just before the final rounds. The Jack in the Bot (Jackson High School) mentors weren’t around and the students couldn’t fix it.”
